Toby
Registered Name: Motley
Sire: Micheal’s Prince   Dam: Misty

Breed: Haflinger
Height: 13.3 hands
Color: Flaxen Chestnut
DOB: April 1, 2001

This is my naughty boy.  I bought him as a yearling and kept him in Cedar Lane’s Watch-me-grow program until he was trained as a 3 year old.

Toby tends to be too smart for his own good and is constantly looking for mischief. He has taught me a lot, including how to stay one step a head of him at all times. He is fun to be around and just loves attention from anyone. He has been a great trail mount and I hope in the future to get into competitive trail riding with him.

Raider

Breed: Grade - believed to be Standardbred
Height: 15.1 hands
Color: Black
DOB: Unknown - estimated Summer 2002

This is my husbands horse, Raider. We got him when he was 2 years old (we had been told he was 4 and saddle broke - but he wasn’t!).  He’s been our hard keeper trying to get weight on him, but I think he is looking good now.  He has a really laid back personality and has been fun saddle training him for some light trail riding.

Roxy
Registered Name: (Pending)

Breed: American Quarter Horse
Color: Sorrel
Height: estimated to mature at 15 hh
DOB: January 1, 2005

This is my sassy filly. She was bred by my vet and when I saw her at 2 weeks at age, it was love at first sight.  She was a little stinker growing up but she has bonded very closely with me.  Unlike Toby who loves everyone, Roxy is a one-person horse.  She will tolerate others petting her when I am there, but that is about the extent of it.

For now, the extent of her training is just basic ground manners. She will be allowed to just be a horse until 3 years of age and then she will start saddle training.  She is performance bred and just loves to run. I hope to get into barrel racing and other western events with her. Maybe we will see if she has any cow sense and learn cutting together.

Apache
Breed: Draft Cross/ Orphan Foal from Nurse mare
Height: estimated to mature at +16 hands
Color: Gray Tobiano
DOB: April 2005

This quiet boy is a draft cross that was an orphan foal from a nurse mare farm He was born so his mom could feed some other mare’s foal. My husband has claimed Apache as “his” and so has been doing most of the handling with him.  He seems like he is going to have a similar laid-back personality as Raider.

Bandit
Breed: BLM Mustang from Pilot Mountain, NV
Height: 13.1 hands
Color: Bay
DOB: 2003

Finally my dream!  I have always wanted a mustang and now I have him.  He is a little guy from Pilot Mountain, NV HMA. He is also my favorite color, Bay! We are still in the gentling process with him.  He has graduated out of the small corral and is in the field with the other horses now.  I hope to do more thorough ground work and with him next Spring and hopefully start him under saddle in the summer/fall of 2007.

Drifter
Registered Name: Dlux Ready Edition
Sire: Dlux Color Edition   Dam: Already a Classic

Breed: Solid Paint (APHA)
Color: Bay
DOB: Feb. 18, 2005

Isn’t he a cutie?  He is still at the farm where he was bred at, but will hopefully be delivered sometime this fall.  He is already a big, well muscled boy. I’m looking forward to trail riding and attending Western Shows with him when he is old enough.

Art

I love to draw!  Here are a few of my own sketches.  I am also trying my hand at customizing model horses and I will post my projects here as I finish them.  Enjoy!  (These sketches are from my personal collection are not to be used by other people, please do not take them without permission!)
